ABOUT US

We are believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who have personally received Him as our Savior and who just love Him. We rejoice to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus, God’s Son, born again of the Father’s divine life, and filled with the Holy Spirit. We highly treasure the Holy Bible as God’s revelation of Himself and of His eternal purpose.

As is true of all believers in Christ, we are members of His one Body, the church. Hence, "the church in Utrecht" is not our name, but rather our description. We simply meet as the church in the city of Utrecht in order to practice the oneness of the Body with all Christians in this city. We receive and welcome all who believe in Jesus Christ as our brothers and sisters, and we also welcome guests and visitors who are not Christians. It is our joy to be in fellowship with local churches worldwide to express the one Body of Christ.

OUR GATHERINGS

The goal of all our meetings is to experience, enjoy and express Christ. This enables every member to grow to maturity in Christ’s life, being equipped in the full knowledge of the truth according to the Holy Scriptures, for the building up the church as His Body.

Lord's Day Gathering

We meet each Sunday (the Lord’s day) at 10:00 to celebrate the Lord’s table. Following this, there is a time where everyone may share something from the Bible based on the principle of 1 Corinthians 14:26: “Whenever you come together, each one has…” During this time there are also meetings for children and young people.

Weekly Meetings

Throughout the week there are opportunities to meet with others in small groups for fellowship or reading the Bible. In addition, there is a weekly prayer meeting at different homes.

Special Gatherings

Throughout the year there are also various conferences, retreats, trainings, and other special gatherings.

OUR FAITH

We hold the common faith which is revealed in the Bible and is common to all genuine believers (Titus 1:4; Jude 3).

The Bible

The Bible is the complete divine revelation inspired word-by-word by God through the Holy Spirit (2 Pet. 1:21; 2 Tim. 3:16).

The Triune God

God is uniquely one, yet triune—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. From eternity to eternity, the Father, Son, and Spirit coexist and coinhere (1 Tim. 2:5; Matt. 28:19).

The Person of Christ

The Son of God, even God Himself, was incarnated to be a man by the name of Jesus Christ, born of a virgin to be our Redeemer and our Savior (John 1:1, 14; Matt. 1:21, 23; Gal. 3:13; Titus 1:4).

The Work of Christ

Christ died on the cross for our sins, shedding His blood for our redemption (1 Pet. 2:24; Eph. 1:7). He resurrected from among the dead on the third day (1 Cor. 15:4; Acts 2:32) and ascended to the right hand of God to be Lord of all (Acts 1:9; 2:33, 36).

Salvation through Faith

Whenever any person repents to God and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, he is regenerated (born again) and becomes a living member of the one Body of Christ (Acts 20:21; John 3:3; Eph. 1:22-23; Rom. 12:5).

Christ's Return

Christ is coming again to receive His believers to Himself (1 Thes. 2:19; 2 Thes. 2:1; Acts 1:11).

Life

To grow in life unto maturity

Truth

Community

To enjoy fellowship with our Lord and with one another
